Registration and Enrollment Process

Registration for this mega workshop is a five stage process. A growing list of all applicants is maintained on the workshop web page. A ‘status’ value is maintained and displayed for each applicant. The 5 stages in the process are described below:
  1. Preliminary Enrollment: This is the first stage in which a person, eligible to attend the workshop, fills up the on-line enrollment form. The applicant is provisionally enrolled. The name is included in the list, with the status ‘(P) Enrolled’.

  2. Enrollment confirmation: An email is automatically generated at our end, and is sent to the applicant at the indicated email-id. It informs the applicant about receipt of the form, and contains a ‘link’. Applicant is required to ‘click’ on the link. After this stage, the applicant’s status in the list is changed to ‘Enrolled’.>

This process is necessary to prevent possible misuse by hackers with mala fide intentions, who may fill up multiple forms giving arbitrary email-ids.

  3. Approval of eligibility: Our team will carry out a preliminary scrutiny of the submitted credentials. Once it is determined that the applicant is prima facie eligible, the enrollment of the applicant is provisionally confirmed. The status in the list is updated to ‘’Elig. Approved,’ and an email is generated and sent. No further action is required at this stage by the applicant.

Note that the certificate of permission from the Institute is ordinarily scrutinized at this stage. Since this requirement is diluted for this first mega- workshop, this checking will be done before the certificates are released by IIT Bombay.

  4. Provisional confirmation: After the last date of enrollment, eligible applicants are allotted to an available remote centre. An email is generated and sent to the applicant giving this information. And the status is updated to ‘Prov. Confirmed’.

  5. Final Confirmation: The mail sent as above, also contains a userid and password, which provides access to the backend learning management System of the workshop (which is based on the ‘moodle’ package). Applicant is required to log on to that system, and change his/her password. The enrollment and registration process is now completed, and the candidate should report to the allocated Remote Centre for the workshop.

A letter to that effect, signed by head of the Institution, or head of the concerned department, has to be submitted at the time of enrollment. Normally, you are required to get such a letter, scan it, and upload the scanned copy at this stage. In view of the limited time available, and also because this is the vacation period, participants are being permitted, as a special case, to submit/upload the scanned copy later.

  1. Whether you have the certificate as above, and are uploading the scanned copy now: Choose ‘yes’ or ‘no’. In case you choose yes, proceed to upload the scanned copy of the letter, and skip to field 24.

  2. In case your answer to field 22 is ‘no’, please choose the time by which you will be able to submit such a certificate. There are two choices

(a)Will bring the letter on the day I join the workshop. If you choose this option, your participation will be confirmed now, subject to other eligibility and priority. In case you fail to bring the certificate as promised, you may be denied admission to the workshop

(b)Will submit the letter within one week of completion of the workshop. If you choose this option, then your participation will be confirmed only after all other candidates are accommodated.

  3. Acceptance of terms and conditions: Choose ‘yes’ or ‘no’

Please note that choosing ‘yes’ amounts to a self certification to the following:
(a)All the information provided by me is correct to the best of my knowledge.

(b)In case my bona fides are later detected to be wrong, I understand that I will not be given ISTE certificate of participation, or if given the same will be withdrawn. In such a case, I accept that I will be liable to refund the expenditure incurred on me for participating in this workshop.
