Research Experience
Feasibility of Light Frames (LFs) in Access Networks , M. Tech. Thesis Ongoing
  • Proposed topology abstraction algorithms for the formation of light-mesh (LF frameworks),
  • Computed network parameters like blocking probability, delay and throughput
  • Studied the performance of proposed frameworks through discrete-event simulations in Java
  • Analyzing the economic viability of LF framework deployments in access area through Retrun on Investment (RoI) analysis and comparison with PON and WiMAX based access deployments
Selected Publications
  • A. Agrawal, A. Gumaste, M. Chamania, N. Ghani, "Topology Abstraction Algorithms for Light-Mesh: An Alternate Model for PON", in Proceedings of IEEE/OSA 24th Optical Fiber Communication (OFC) Conference, San Diego, USA, 24 - 28 Feb 2008
  • A. Gumaste, D. Diwakar, A. Agrawal, A. Lodha, N. Ghani, "Light-Mesh: A Pragmatic Optical Access Network Architecture for IP-Centric Service Oriented Communication" (invited paper) to appear in Elsevier's Journal of Optical Switching and Networking (OSN) 2008

Key Course Projects
Arch-Ed: An Eclipse Plugin to Support Software Architecture Based Development, Systems Lab
  • Designed XML schemas and Java classes to validate Unified Modeling Language (UML) diagrams
  • Worked with Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF) and Graphical Editing Framework (GEF)
Resource Reporting in Telephony Gateway Registration Protocol (TGReP), Computer Networks
