Our IITB DynaSPOT (Dynamic Services Provisioned Optical Transport) is now functional
It consists of a 4-node SLiT (Stongly connected Light-Trail) in a metro optical ring format.
The test-bed supports up to 40 wavelength in the ring, and each wavelength can be provisioned at a 1 Gbps, 2.488 Gbps or 10 Gbps depending on the requirement.
Within each SLiT, we further enable multiple speed provisioning, i.e. some nodes can communicate at 1 Gbps while others can communicate at 2.488 Gbps (over the same wavelength). This involves necessary burst-mode optics management automatic attenuation control etc. The physical layer supports 802.3 framing.
Customers can provision a range of services including Triple Play (Voice, Video, Data), PWE3, Video on Demand, Storage and Data Center Networking
Currently IPTV is being provisioned through three nodes, while legacy voice services (over shared medium) are provisioned at all four nodes.
