I am working as Assistant Professor in KReSIT, IIT Bombay since July 2002. Previous to this I worked as Research Staff Member in Mobile Internet Group with Networks Laboratories (formerly C & C Labs) NEC, Heidelberg. Germany. I was involved with projects aiming to provide communication infrastructure for future Internet based mobile communication system. I completed my PhD in 2000 from Jadavpur University, Calcutta, India. My thesis was in Mobile Multihop Wireless Networks where I investigated issues in routing, survivability analysis, and topology control. Previous to NEC, I worked as Senior Software Engineer in industry where I implemented communication protocols and large-scale enterprise application software in distributed object platforms.

Research Interest: ……………………………

Topics of my research interests span several areas of communications including network protocols, mobile computing, and network security. My past research included systems for Resource Constrained Wireless Multihop Network, Security in Mobile Self-configuring systems, Mobile IP, AAA. I am particularly interested in providing QOS guarantee in wired and resource constrained, mobile wireless networks, designing low cost wireless communication architecture for mobile users, applications and communication aspects in sensor networks.

Some of the projects currently undertaken are:

-Architecture for VoIP in multihop wireless mesh networks,

-Efficient resource reservation schemes for mobile users in Local area WLAN,

-Communication architecture for sensor network for city traffic control system.
