About Me

I graduated from IIT in 2007, with a PhD in Computer Graphics. At present I work at Microsoft India Development Center.

I am academically inclined and would love to work on cutting edge research. If you are a research lab or software development unit working in the state of the art, and have a job to offer, do let me know. Here's my CV.

Research Interests

My interests lie in computer graphics in general and more specifically in :
  • Modeling and Rendering Techniques
  • Image Processing and Vision
  • Character Animation
    • Behavioral Animation
    • Mocap Reuse
  • Interactive Story Telling
Computer graphics is a young discipline. The first 50 years or so of research in this field has been geared towards understanding the process of drawing and painting pictures on the screen. A number of techniques have been developed for this purpose. Today we are able to simulate near photorealistic imagery in near real-time. However, the existing methods for describing virtual worlds filled with digital actors and digital scenes are very cumbersome. Much can be done to alleviate this problem. I foresee a blend of behavioral animation and digital story telling techniques to become important in the future. Similarly, the very process that takes scene descriptions from an artists mind to final rendering will also evolve. Needless to say, much work needs to be done in these areas before they become truly accessible to normal human beings who specialize in non conmputer science domains such as art and drama. It here that I plan to make my contribution.
