Introduction
OpenPLC is affordable open-source hardware developed at IIT Bombay by the FOSSEE team. It is designed to get hands?on PLC programming experience at an affordable cost. OpenPLC can be programmed using LDmicro application. LDmicro is open-source software. LDmicro was available only for Windows initially, the FOSSEE team from IIT Bombay ported it and made it available for Linux OS also, It is used to draw ladder diagrams and generate .hex files for OpenPLC.
Methodology of the Workshop
The workshop will be for one day. It will be conducted using pre-recorded spoken tutorial videos with side by side learning.
All participants will get the LDmicro Application software, Spoken Tutorials on OpenPLC with LDmicro Application. They will also get an opportunity to contribute towards the collaborative content creation activity of the FOSSEE Project.

The training will help teachers and students in using the OpenPLC with the LDmicro Application.
The following topics will be covered during the workshop. There is a total of 27 tutorials covering from basic to intermediate level operations of OpenPLC with LDmicro.
Overview, Installation of LDmicro, Simulation, various OpenPLC modules, basics of Coils, Logic Gates, intermediate level of PLC operations and more.

Duration and Venue
Pilot Workshop on OpenPLC with LDmicrowill be online on 16th December 2021 from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm.
Criteria for Certification
??Participation certificates, in an electronic form, will be provided to all participants after the successful completion of the workshop.

This Pilot workshop will be free of cost.

- To participate in this workshop, you need to have an invitation email from eoutreach team, IIT Bombay.
- After clicking the invitation link you will get the registration form. If you wish to attend the workshop you must fill up the registration form.
- After you submit the registration form for the workshop and pay the course fees online, you will receive an automated confirmation email.
- Press the “Decline” button, if you are not participating in the workshop.

Note
- As the workshop is conducted online, it is mandatory to have a desktop/ laptop with an external mouse and a working internet connection with good bandwidth. The laptop should be capable of running LDmicro application.
Technical Requirements:
- It is mandatory to have LDmicro installed in the system to attend the workshop.
- Following operating systems are recommended.
- Windows 8/10.
- Ubuntu Linux 18.04.
