Caching Proxy Location In Multimedia Network with Delay Tolerant Clients

Emerging application such as distance education and corporate training are examples of delay tolerant multimedia applications where the clients request the start of play back at a convenient time specified by (t+di) where t is a current time and di is the delay tolerance acceptable to the client. Such applications typically involve a Closed User Group network that exhibits heterogeneous characteristics, where a Content Service provider disseminates multimedia content to geographically dispersed clients. Our research deals with the issue of maximizing the quality of delivered at the client while satisfying their delay tolerance by deploying caching proxy somewhere in the network. Determining the appropriate location of caching proxy is also an issue in our research because according to our experimentation result the position of caching proxy may also affect the quality of delivered to the clients in the network
