Discussion among participants

Discussion on assigned flowsheets

Open discussion on the solved flowsheets was an important part of the workshop. it helped me clear my doubts and exposed me to different problem solving approaches.

Given flowsheet prior to qualify for training

Discussion on Solved assignment Flowsheets and Open Modelica

SPOKEN TUTORIAL

Screening of candidates

Cape open modelling and more understanding

Well organized schedule

Ability to challenge oneself and contribute through the learning

The assignment system for getting selected in Advance Workshop.

Personal interaction and willingness of the staff to respond promptly.

22. Any suggestions for improvement

No

N/A

Workshop can be conducted in various days and no in a single day altogether

The worrkshop was well organized.

We actually need tutorials without spoken language. Example. They can encircle the option of clicking.

In an Advanced level workshop, playing spoken tutorial videos (that were freely available in Fossee website) was not something that I expected. That too, the examples took in the tutorial were very basic in nature. At least some industry related problem should have been considered as example, that gives the audience a taste of attempting something realistic. (Here I am talking specific to Python Scripting)

NO

No. of days for workshop should be extended

More time duration as some of practice problemsdid not get much time to complete

There is need on improve the knowledge about cape open and chemsep and custom modelling

It will be great if heat integration and Pinch analysis are included in DWSIM.

NA - provided during the workshop

The problem solving time between each session was less.

The spoken tutorial sessions were not that effective; the time was not enough to follow and do the work ourselves. This part should be made more interactive than just leaving things to the participants.

23. Please give your feedback on our forum approach to answer doubts

No Forum is quite good

Went well.

Good approach

Questions are answered clearly and quickly.

Excellent

That was good.

Sometime It is not under stable the format and layout of forum

Excellent way of describing FAQ.

NA - provided during the workshop

Yeah, it was great and actually doubts are getting solve not like other forums where no one is there to answer your query.

I have not participated much in the forum, but will consider to use it in future.

24. How do you hope to use the learnings from this workshop into practice?

Good

I have'nt used python scripts before, I'll try to do simulation with it.

By practicing more and creating more flowsheets.

I hope to use in my B.Tech project and also other reports where I would be required to discuss on the process improvement.

Follow the spoken training on weekly basis

Will apply the learnings

YES, I AM TRING TO MODEL IN PYTHON

utilising this opportunity to design processes of industry

Learn Dwsim more in deep and try to solve industrial problems

Conducting institutional level workshop on DWSIM. Assign B.Tech research projects.

FOSS development and application in process consulting and analytics

I'm looking very forward to work on DWSIM in academics and research.

I would like to use the forums, and also request for flowsheets to be made on the FOSSEE forum. I am also glad to know of staff members like Priyam and others who were very helpful all throughout.

25. Any other feedback

No

No issues

NA

None.

Interested to take Textbook Companion project and FreeCAD project

The one day Advanced Workshop began by 10:00 hrs and ended by 17:30 hrs, with a 45 minute lunch break. Introductory speech (non-technical) was for 45 minutes, and 30 minutes talk by Daniel Wagner. So, deducting all these timings, the core technical training went only for 5.5 hours. And, Python Scripting was just touched superficially, with a very very basic example. I personally feel, the Advanced course could have been designed in a much better way.

NO

All good

If practical aspects are provided with workshop and practical meaning of factor and equipment

No.
