Introduction

IIT Bombay is organizing a half-day workshop on "Mera Yuva Bharath (Ministry of Youth Affairs, Government of India)" on Thursday, 26 October 2023. The objective of this workshop is to carry out a thought experiment to help support the initiative, Mera Yuva (MY) Bharat. It will be a participatory workshop, in which every participant is expected to contribute to discussions and arrive at useful conclusions.

Methodology of the Workshop

It will be a participatory workshop, in which every participant is expected to contribute to discussions and to arrive at useful conclusions. All participants will be divided into four groups explained in the form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1r7IjsNgjiQ1Np9XE2ZybNePyLBz4fqtVf0siL0l4HCc/edit. We request you to fill this form, which is self explanatory. We also invite possible leaders for each group. The topic related to each group is to be deliberated and conclusions to be presented to all participants of this workshop.

Course content

Group discussion on the following topic:

  • Platform technology (what features it should have, how it should be modern, how it will be easy to use, comparison with other platforms, etc.)
  • Activities (networking with other users, getting help from mentors, documenting activities of users, certifying mechanism, etc.)
  • Working with work provider, especially Ministries, and communities (Making use of Gati Shakti is one of the focus areas)
  • Improving soft skills and related skills through this platform (critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, socially relevant computing, using technology to solve problems, entrepreneurial skills, negotiation, costing, etc.)

Duration and Venue

    The workshop will be held in room 23, VMCC, IIT Bombay from 10:00am to 1:30pm. A tentative schedule can be accessed here.

Criteria for Certification

Participation certificates, in an electronic form, will be provided to all participants after successful completion of the workshop

Course Fee

The programme is completely free of cost for the participants.
