Introduction
An important initiative has been taken by IIT Bombay to work with Engineering Colleges in the country to enhance the teaching skills of our faculty colleagues in core Engineering and Science Subjects. This initiative has now become a part of the National Mission on Education through ICT supported by MHRD. Course content
The resounding success of the pilot has encouraged us to organize another 2-week workshop on the same subject, from 28th June to 10th July 2010. This time, other than the ISRO-IITB EDUSAT network remote centers, various National Institutes of Technology (NITs) will also be joining us on the National Knowledge Network (NKN)
Teaching Faculty
Prof. D. B. Phatak is a Chair Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT Bombay. His research interests are in the areas of Data Bases and Information Systems, Software Engineering, System Performance Evaluation, IT enabled Education and IT strategy planning. He has been a consultant and advisor for IT related issues to leading financial institutions and many government organizations. Dataquest, a premiere IT publication, recently honored him with a 'Lifetime achievement award'. He is a fellow of CSI and IETE. He continues to work on several Government and NASSCOM committees.
