Introduction

Registration date extended till 4 December 2020, 01:00 PM

IIT Bombay has conducted many large-scale teacher training workshops under the Train 10,000 Teachers (T10KT) programme, sponsored by the National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT), MoE, Govt. of India, and trained over 2,00,000 teachers.

This workshop is a joint initiative of the Knowledge Incubation TEQIP III (KITE), Parimal and Pramod Chaudhari Centre for Learning and Teaching (PPCCLT) and Teaching Learning Centre (TLC) at IIT Bombay, under 'Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching' (PMMMNMTT), through Ministry of Education, Government of India. IIT Bombay will be conducting a series of pedagogy workshops on various subjects for the college faculty and it will be announced shortly.

We propose to use IITBombayX (online MOOC platform) and face-to-face interactions through a video conferencing tool for the upcoming 3-Day Pedagogy workshop on “Building an Online Signals and Systems Course (Part - II) scheduled from 04 to 07 December 2020.

Methodology of the Workshop

After the online registration, the online study material will be shared with the registered participants. If there are any queries then they may either post the query on the IITBombayX discussion forum or they may ask their query during the online interaction with IIT Bombay course instructors.

For this workshop, participants are expected to devote 6 hours a day. On 04 Dec 2020, an introductory live interactive session will be conducted in the late afternoon. Thereafter, for the remaining days, each day will consist of 3 hours of online activity followed by 3 hours of interactive session.

Course content

In this workshop, we largely deal with: linear system theory in the natural domain and the Fourier transform domain. The aim of this workshop is to familiarize the participants with the perspective of the instructor, in teaching this course, and to actually have the participants discuss some of the topics in a manner, in which they would teach, when called upon.

The modules covered in this course:

  • How to analyze the effect of sampling
  • How to reconstruct signals from samples under certain conditions
  • How to bring continuous and discrete independent variable systems together
  • How to generalize the Fourier Transform for continuous and discrete independent variable systems, using the Laplace and z- transforms

Teaching Faculty

Prof. Vikram Gadre, Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Bombay

Who Should Attend

This course is targeted towards Engineering faculty who are currently teaching Signals and Systems in their Colleges or plan to teach. Faculty from polytechnic and Research Scholars may also participate.

Duration and Venue
