Sign up and Course Registration FAQs


1) Do I need to sign-up?

Ans. Yes, in order to attend the course you need to sign-up on the website and register for the relevant programme or course.

2) Do I need to do anything after the sign up is done?

Ans. You have to verify your e-mail id after the sign up details are completed. This will activate your account.

3) Will only the creation of login id make me eligible to attend the course?

Ans. No. After the login id is created, it is also compulsory for you to register for the course.

4) Am I eligible for registration if I am not a student?

Ans. Every course may have different requirements which will be mentioned in ‘Who should attend’ section in respective course announcement page.

5) What should I do if I am not able to complete the sign up page or facing issues during sign up?

Ans. Please check if you have filled all the information correctly.

6) Why did I not receive an automated verification e-mail from IIT Bombay?

Ans. Please check your spam folder if it is not in your inbox. There is a possibility that you have either entered wrong email id or given some different email id during sign up. Please contact us if the problem still persists.

7) Can I edit my profile?

Ans. Yes, you can edit your profile if you want to make any updates in your profile. For example your Institute and contact details etc.

8) What if I forgot my password?

Ans. You may click on the ‘Forgot password’ link and follow the steps to reset your password.

9) Is there a course fee to attend a course ?

Ans. Every course may have different requirements which will be mentioned in ‘Course Fee’ section in respective course announcement page.

10) How will I come to know about the new workshops of IIT Bombay?

Ans. If you have signed up successfully, then you will receive an automated e-mail, whenever new course is announced by IIT Bombay. Also the announcement will be done on our website.

11) Is it compulsory to attend all the courses?

Ans. It is not compulsory, you may register for a course based on your personal interest, eligibility and engagement.

12) Can my institute participate in a course if my institute is not a registered Remote Centre of IIT Bombay?

Ans. Every course may have different requirements which will be mentioned in ‘Who Should Attend‘ section in respective course announcement page.

13) Is it compulsory to attend all the courses?

Ans. It is not compulsory, you may register for a course based on your personal interest, eligibility and engagement.

Course Fee FAQs

1) How Do I pay the course fee for the course?

During the registration for the course, you will be directed to online payment-gateway.

2) Can I make the payment offline? i.e. Through Cheque/DD

No, the course fee is accepted only through online payment.

3) When should I pay the course fee?

The course fee should be paid while registering online for the course. The registration will be accepted only after the payment is made.

4) How do I know if my online payment is successful?

After the payment is successfully done, you will get an automated registration successful email. Also, in your login dashboard, the details of the payment transaction will be available.

5) What should I do if I have not received an email of successful registration?

Please check your login dashboard, to know whether you have successfully completed your registration. If the chosen course is not displayed on your dashboard, it means your registration is not completed.

6) Can I pay the course fee later?

No, you will not be able to complete your registration unless course fee is paid.

7) Will there be any concession in the course?

The course fee is kept very nominal, so that it is affordable to students. Therefore, there is no concession in the course fee and it is fixed for the course.

8) Can I make a partial payment?

Your registration will be completed only after the course fee is fully paid. No, partial payment is accepted.

9) Can I cancel my registration?

For cancellation, please note that there will be no refund given once the registration is done. You may contact us on eoutreach@it.iitb.ac.in for any further query.

10) What is the procedure to cancel my registration?

11) What to do if the course fee amount is debited from my bank account and I am not registered for the course?

If your amount is debited and you are not registered for the course then please wait for 2-3 working days. If there is no change in your registration status, kindly send an email from your verified email id, to us with your transaction details, which should include Transaction reference number, Unique request id, and transaction date. Our team will verify these details, and ensure that your registration is completed.
